Re: Project idea
Yeah what i've been doing is researching what other Mitsu drivers have felt after doing the delete, and they said that after a day or two you hardly notice the difference. It's not MAKING more vibrations, just dampening less. I Might still do it after i get the car back. I need a car too damn bad to worry about it now. As far as the turn signals, I already bought the smoked ones. ill see how they look first and change them out if i don't like the look. I got the blue fogs to go with the silver. I coul've gotten clear, blue or amber. For $100 a set, i think i'll stick with the blue. lol

Re: Project idea
yeah maybe just try out the balance eliminator and see if you like it, I have had to that with a few things on my car already been through three different suspension set ups and still don't like the one I have now. But I think the blue fog lights are awesome and should look pretty cool.

Re: Project idea
You'll never be satisfied with suspension Dennis haha, At least to me, it's one of those things with too many variables. As far as the balance shaft delete, ALOT of Mitsubishi owners do it, but a lot of Honda owners put giant spoilers on their daily drivers haha. It seems legit to me, but I don't know alllll that much about it, basically my point is, just because so many people do it, doesn't make it a good thing. But in this case, with so many people successfully doing the delete, I don't see what could really go wrong..
And as for the bumpers, you made the right choice with that last one, I actually really, really, like the look of it... And I'm not usually partial to aftermarket bumpers... Ever.. Haha. That one looks natural though.

Re: Project idea
I thought i wanted a wild bumper, but my wife and you guys are right, this one fits. I was showing her different bumpers and she said get that one. Then i shows Denis and he agreed. Hopefully the damn thing will come in soon. I really want to update the look of the car. HOPEFULLY the new header will be here today, I've already got the intake on the engine, the engine is on a stand, and I'm waiting for my turn signals. As far as the balance shaft delete, I'll hold off on it until after the car is running. I need a car too damn bad and my wife wants to wait on getting a second car (hopefully a 3000GT instead of a Mustang) til we get our taxes.

Re: Project idea
Definitely try to talk her into a 3000gt, that would be a great machine to have.

Re: Project idea
New header came in! I posted a photo of the engine (on a stand) on JTO's Facebook wall with the header and intake installed.
Believe me, I'm trying. She knows I want to get my hands on JDM goodies for one. I just don't know if she'll accept the 3000GT or not. She wants a 2006+ Eclipse, 1999-2004 Mustang, 3000GT or a Chevy Cobalt (in that order of preference). I'd love to convert it to RHD and do a VR4 swap.

Re: Project idea
yes the VR4 would be epic. That is weird combination of cars desired nice mix though. I would definitely go with the 3000gt then eclipse and probably a cobalt before a mustang unless it was a cobra, that year cobra was pretty awesome.

Re: Project idea
I told her "a mustang wont TOUCH my garage UNLESS it's at least a GT, Cobra preferred." Thats when i got "The Look". *shudders* Chances are, we'll end up with an Eclipse IF i can talk her into this sweet looking 99 GS i found. Auto, Black leather, wiper and rear wing with OZ Rally wheels. really clean, the leather was adequately worn for the age, and only $7995. I'd rather the 3000, but I think the place that had it, sold it.
I stand corrected. they still have it for $6995. Now to talk her into it when i pick her up from work tonight...

Re: Project idea
It's not so bad. Thank god she's into cars too. It's just convincing her (right now) WHY we need the parts. I told her that we'd have to buy the intake and header because the new engine didn't come with them. lol
Just out of random curiosity, should i get a push button start? I read about one and they work in conjunction with the key. Looks kinda cool.

Re: Project idea
I can't wait to GET it and drool on it. lol. It shipped today (thank god) but they had a little problem with the order. Turns out the blue fogs i ordered are not in stock and wont be for some time if at all. So i called Andy's Auto Sport back and told them switch it to the clear fogs. I'll get some blue film or definitely some blue HID's. Later this week I'm taking the car off to set the timing and install the motor and looking for a good deal on paint and install of the bumper. Will post pics when we get it back. Once we move, I'll show the new home for the car too. lol

Re: Project idea
Well, i think the key would be used to help eliminate people running off with the car. lol. Course i could do like we do our trucks in the army, Just a heavy chain welded to the floor or seat bracket and a padlock.

Got the smoked turns today. Tomorrow morning Sarah and I are going to pick up a truck, get a car trailer and haul the car to the mechanic. Hoping to get the car back at the beginning of next week. It's been almost 2 years since i took it for a good drive. Hopefully the bumper will be in next week. PIC WILL BE POSTED SO QUIT ASKING Addicted2Speed and Dennis Minter! lol

Taking our baby up to the shop. Nothing's wrong with the hatch, just has an engine sitting in it. Guess the whole rear engine Eclipse thing doesn't look so good... lol. SHOULD have it back in a week.

Re: Project idea
Sad news, I just found out that the 3000GT that was for sale about 20 minutes from where my wife and i live, sold. I'm praying to the JDM gods, DO NOT LET MY WIFE GET A MUSTANG! MY SANITY DEPENDS ON IT!
Just found an automatic, red, '98 3000GT in Springfield, MO for $6495. here's to hoping Sarah lets me get it for her. She surprised me earlier by saying yes when i asked if i got that 3000 for her if she'd like it. women... lol
OMFG, i just found an 89 FC convertible. dunno if she'd go for that, but I like the price, only $4980.

Re: Project idea
Screw the LS. lol. Too common of a mod. If she get's it (which the jury's still out on bc she wants a car she likes and is comfortable with, not because i want to mod the hell out of) I'll probably go with a better rotary. maybe a twin turbo 13B or three rotor. But it'll be her car.

Re: Project idea
Yeah, i would too. A convertible FC just doesn't look right... Luckily she still wants the 3000. I THINK the RX7 was a two seater anyhow....
