Re: Project idea
I'm a big fan of just about any shade of red/maroon/burgundy and silver goes with everything so I say go for it. I originally wanted to do blood red on the outside of the prelude, but red is just too common, and I want something a little different.

Red is a good color for Honda almost all Honda's look good in red. But yes the red is very common and if you want something to stand out then the red would not do that.

Re: Project idea
Holy hell, 11 pages? Either this is a hot topic, or we have nothing better to do... lol.
Yeah, i figured Burgundy would go well with silver. I might hold off on painting the extra VC until we get her an Eclipse so i can see which vc that one has. The extra one we have right now says "2.4L" over "16 VALVE". The one on the new motor has the Mitsubishi diamonds next to "MITSUBISHI" over "16 VALVE". And, of course, after talking with my wife (I still haven't gotten a straight answer on the VC) we started thinking about painting the wheels. Maybe Blue Ice spokes with a black lip. the jury's still out on that. but it DOES sound feasible...
Ah, the tuning bug, when it flares up it's best to just go with it. lol

Re: Project idea
who needs a wallet anymore, it's not like we ever have anything to put in it. As soon as I get any money it goes from my hand and directly to girlfriend and kids and the change gets put to my car, lol.

Re: Project idea
Hopefully i can talk my loving wife into letting me get the VC painted for my car. I'm painting one for hers whenever we get another Eclipse. It's going to suck if i spend the money on the extra VC only for her to get a V6... ah well.
what do you think of powder coated wheels? the ones on the car, with Blue Ice spokes and a black lip?

Re: Project idea
personally i don't like the rims with too much color. I like mine to be white or silver but black looks good to. Your spokes are overly big though and don't take up the whole wheel so it might not look too bad.

Actually.. I think it'd look even better with black spokes and a blue ice lip, and polished or black bolts.

Re: Project idea
I'm kind of liking the Black with Blue Ice, but what about keeping with the theme? Maybe Candy Silver with Blue Ice? I'm thinking about having the brake calipers and drums painted to match. Sarah seems to be on board with it.

Re: Project idea
Checked on the car today. Still working, but they're going to try to hurry it along and prioritize Yuna (the Eclipse) in addition to a BMW 7 series that they'll have to order parts for. Over a grand in control arms alone, and they still don't know whats wrong with the Bimmer. just what the owner described. Had a job interview at Enterprise Rent-a-car today too. They like me, i sold myself as well as i could, so hopefully i get the job. I'll know friday. Fingers crossed! lol. Overall, things are (finally) looking up.

Re: Project idea
Thanks guys. I've been out of work except for my National Guard duties since May 22, 2011. The only way i can remember the day is it was the day before i was supposed to go back to work when the Joplin Mo tornado struck. A new job has been LONG over due. I hate reling on handouts and what not just to get by. And thank God G&N is going to try to get me the Eclipse next Friday. I;m not holding my breath as they only have 2 technicians for the workload they have, but it would be great. I can't wait to hear it run with the intake and header. I'm going to have them do some small exhaust work for me, like bend the tail pipe back into position (I hit a rock imbedded in the ground at a friends house while backing up. It was in good enough it stopped the car) and delete a resonator. Then I'll burn all the old gas out (that's gonna be FUN! ) and get tags. Then I'll have the bumper painted and installed, then she'll get to see her new home.

Re: Project idea
Dammit I need to get my ass in gear with the post count -__-
I suck at photoshop, unfortunately. I got the little 30 day trial and practiced for those 30 days but wasn't good enough to justify actually buying it..
you should post a startup video of the first time you start up the eclipse!

Re: Project idea
About the only way i could get a video up would be either YouTube or Facebook. I might just do Facebook. But the big question is, what to call the project? Maybe Cosmo Eclipse? Eclipsed Cosmo? (The motor is coming out of a Eunos Cosmo). I'll double check with my wife, as it's her project too, but i need ideas. And I'm thinking about trying to move the thread into the build section, and just starting over. Unless i can get the Admin to move it for me...

Re: Project idea
Damn I'm so freaking sore! Moving is a bear! The Eclipse still isn't done. I need it no later than the 18th or 19th so i can have the bumper installed to start work on the 23rd. I doubt it will be ready by this Friday, but here's to hoping.
And i have great news, my wife FINALLY chose what she wants for her car. Now to get the money...
Still no word on having the VC painted though...
