Got my latest copy of Modified Magazine the other day. I can't believe how much i wanted an Evo until i saw this freaking BEAUTIFUL blue Evo VIII GSR. It's tastefully done, nothing TOO wild, is a daily driver with stock internals and turbo for reliability. Plus, there was an Acura RSX that i thoroughly enjoyed, MUGEN parts left and freaking right, red Type R badges, Type R interior and headlights, supercharged K20, and a whole slew of goodies. No i'm not a Honda hater, i've always liked the RSX, just never could find one in my price range.

Re: Just reposting
So i was tinkering around on the car, waiting for my neighbor to get home so i can borrow his jack and jackstands to change my oil. I didn't do much, just swapped the location of the cubby and the radio. The Eclipse also came with a 6 disc in dash CD changer, hence the huge hole. I might look into a DVD unit to fit there.

Re: Just reposting
Street legal Indy car anyone?
The two-seat vehicle looks pretty authentic and comes with Chrysler’s 3.5-l V6 that endows the car with 253hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. A zero to 60mph dash takes 4.2 seconds, while the quarter mile run is timed at 12.9 seconds. According to the seller, this 2006 Indy Street Car also has front-independent suspension and 4 corner aluminum coil-over with ride height adjustment, and weighs in at 1,960 lbs.

Re: Just reposting
Well, some sad news. The Eclipse is down again. not entirely sure what's wrong with it, but i do know it's knocking. THe bad thing is, it only lasted about 3 months or so, but i did notice an unusual ticking sound that i mistook for the classic Mitsubishi lifter tick. The motor came from a salvage yard and my first clue should have been the fact that it was hacked up when it was pulled. But, that's in the past now. On to bigger things. I've been pondering getting a motor from a local import salvage yard. I stopped by and they test each motor and offer a warranty. Plus the shop i want to use will only charge about 900 dollars for a removal, swap over, and installation. But the big question is do i just get a 4G64 or go for the better 4G63t? The 64 would get me back on the road quicker, but the 63t would offer more performance and turbo. I'm still pondering though.
I even thought about selling the car to buy a Porsche. The jury is still in deliberation on that. Chances are, I won't, but i don't know. For now, the car will just sit in the garage while Sarah and I figure stuff out. We still have to prepare for a newborn in March.
What a wonderful time for the R34's to not be legal in the US. Maybe i should try to get an R33 sedan and call it good...

Re: Just reposting
Well, after talking with Sarah and facing the fact that we will probably be holding onto the Accord for a little while, I've decided to work on it and make it a little more pleasurable to drive. I do want to swap out the factory chrome headlights that are oxidized as hell for a set of JDM style ones, maybe do the same with the tails. I also want to do a MAJOR cleaning on the leather interior and carpets, eliminate the smell in the trunk (i accidentally left trash in there for almost a week) Freshen up the wheels and clean the engine bay, maybe do a few custom things to make it run better. I knew the tuning bug wouldn't leave me alone, but why in the name of all that's good a damn 4 cylinder Honda Accord?! As far as the car is concerned, it won't be anything huge, just something to make it more pleasurable for the time being.
I am looking for a decent Porsche 911 (not a Boxter, it's a two seater) that might need a little work but has a manual. Whether or not i go with it remains to be seen, as Sarah has OK'd swapping the SOHC for a DOHC, hopefully turbo, but we can add that later. I was pretty surprised when she said why not just go with the 2.0L when i mentioned i wanted to drop one in. So, all options are on the table. Will keep you posted.

Re: Just reposting
I would pass on the Porsche for now, if you think the Eclipse is a never ending project then buying a used Porsche in less than great condition will be a pain beyond anything else, lol. I would go with the 4G63t and get up and running with the turbo that should be plenty of power for the time being. Driving an Accord is not so bad though. What yea is the Accord? If you have no plans of kepping the Accord just be careful how much money you drop into it cause you don't want to waste money on something that you will not be keeping.

Re: Just reposting
The main reason i keep referencing a Porsche is the fact that the Porsche/Mitsubishi/Volkswagen dealer across the street from where i work had a 2001 black Porsche 911 Carerra with a 6 speed. Had i had the bumper on the car and the A/C working, i could've used it as a decent trade in. The Porsche was perfect only about 100,000 miles. If i could find a Porsche in that kind of condition, I just might think harder about selling the Eclipse instead of when I'm mad at it. I would LOVE to have a Porsche 911.
But for the time being, I'm (somewhat) happy with the Eclipse. At least I can start moving a little more toward a more performance minded setup. I have only just begun looking for a 4G63 or 63t, so i'm not having any results to talk about as of yet. I would rather find a turbo motor, but i don't want to pay a ton of money or drive halfway across the country just to pick it up, as i refuse to pay for shipping. It would be much more feasible to rent a pickup from work and pick it up myself. Plus, if i get one with a reciever hitch, i can rent a tow dolly from Uhaul and tow the car down to Sho-Me Speed and have them do the work. All in due time. I did, however see a 4G63T on Osaka JDM Motors for $1600. http://osakajdmmotors.ca/jdm-engines/jdm-mitsubishi-engines-c-5.html
As far as the Accord is concerned, if i do any mods at all outside fixing it and heads/tails, they will be very mild. I was hoping to find a Mugen kit for the 2001 Accrod sedans, but no such luck. Since you guys are Honda fanatics, how about helping a brother out? lol. I will start a thread for that car in the next day or so. One thing is for sure, i want to keep the interior as factory as possible. The car has a 6 disc CD/tape player that will need a little work. I'm sure my dad would like to have his CD's back. The interior needs cleaning, hopefully not new carpet. The seats are fine, we had the car detailed back in October. The engine bay is filthy, I'm sure it needs a power steering pump, tune up, new shocks (dad has the ones that need replaced) and I'd like to put a CAI or at least a K&N filter in it. Headlights will get replaced for something JDM. I MIGHT get some JDM Type R badges too, but, one day at a time.

Re: Just reposting
Deriving the Accord isn't all bad like you said Dennis, but the thing laks the get up and go i'm used to. Plus it over-revs a little from first into second, the other gears are fine. Oh, and it's a 4 speed auto. It has an F23 engine, not sure of the actual one, but it's a 2001 2.3L. If i was to get crazy with it, I'd get an SiR front clip. If. lol

Here's the motor i want to go with. A JDM 7 bolt 4G63t at JDM Source in Calgary AB, Canada for $1,250 plus shipping. If i wait for my income taxes to come in, i can go with it. If not, then I'll just get a local one.

Too many spokes for my liking but they don't look bad. I am not a big fan of most stock rims.

Re: Just reposting
ZThe sad thing is guys, other than the gunmetal ICW rims on it, and i bought those because i wanted something to match my 98 Malibu, i have no idea what type of rims fit me or the car. I want something stylish, flush fitting, and cool. Maybe bc i keep referencing the M3 wheels and these, i want to go with rims with many spokes like this.

Re: Just reposting
Ok, screw the Eclipse. It can rot in a junkyard because i found the PERFECT project car. check THIS out...
Anyone want to help me raise $20,000??? lol
I'll stick with the two door four seaters, and Sarah wants this beautiful BMW 745i.
Just for the record, I'm not getting rid of the Eclipse. But this 1993 Toyota Supra twin turbo widebody makes me consider it...

I would rock the Supra over an Eclipse, sorry man but those are nice but I think I would have to go with the 745i overall, that one is my favorite year and have wanted one of those for a while now.

I'd love to be rocking a Supra. Even the non-turbo five speed model i found on Osaka JDM Motors. But i wtill want to drop a 20B-REW in the Eclipse, so I'm keeping it. lol. Hopefully Sarah and I can get the 745. We need a bigger car.

Yeah, i hear ya. Speaking of bigger stuff, i need to remember to get an intercooler for the Eclipse when i get the 4G63t. Also need to do some research, i need to beat 282 hp. Sarah's Skyline will have about that much. can you say bigger turbo? lol

I'm beginning to think no one likes me. Course, once i get the turbo, few people will. Can't make too many friends when all you show them is your taillights... LOL.
