Yeah, I know how you feel. The only place I leave my car for long periods of time is work. My car's built to be driven not hard parked yo! Lol. I didn't think BWR did unpainted hood spacers. I might go that route. Think I could ask a friend to find out for me next time he goes over there? Lol

Re: 97 EK hatch
lol they do have the ones that are just silver on their site. Almost everything they make you can get in just a plain finish anodized and then paint it whatever color you want. Let me know when this friend is going lol.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Hey now I have some BWR parts too lol.
So not much of an update but I took apart my door and got the window regulator out so I can take the car over to this guys house who says he knows how to eld up my door so that my regultaor wont move around and so my window will work and I don't have to buy a new door. I also took out the glass from the door which had some old dirty tint and nasty grease stuff all over it. Sorry no before pics but I cleaned up the window using a razor blade and some adhesive remover and about an hour and a half of scraping it all off lol, and it looks like a brand new window. I don't know how but the driver side door window was broken prior to me owning the car and they replaced the glass with the old dirty one that was in there but it looks better now. The only way I know that the glass was busted is because that is the only window that had any tint on it and the inside of the door shell had a lot of broken glass inside of it. All cleaned up now and really hoping it gets back on the road soon. Just one step closer with the emission test pass and now waiting on getting a battery, windshield, and registration!! Sorry I'm excited lol.

I can tell. Remember how excited I was just before we got the Eclipse back? I know the feeling well. Lol. Can't wait to just get it running so I can drive it. All in due time though. Lol

Yes but this waiting sucks I keep going out to the garage and staring at and wondering what can I do to it while it's just sitting here lol. I have run out of ideas and am stuck just waiting to get it back on the road.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Ordered just a couple parts yesterday. Just a few small things that I don't really need at the moment but I bought them anyways lol. I ordered a clip for my hood prop because it doesn't stay in place when down because the old clip is gone and has never been there since I bought the car. I also ordered two new window crank handles so that I have them once I get the door fixed and pick up some new window regulators. And I also got two new blank keys from Honda because the only key I have is a generic key and I wanted to have some original keys. Not a big deal but little things that I found pretty cheap and it gives me something to do for now.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Got in my hood rod clip and put in which took all of two seconds, lol, but now the rod will stay in place while driving whenever that happens. Also got my two new key blanks and had one cut at Wal-Mart, will never do that again. I think they didn't push in the blank key far enough to where the cut looks good but it isn't cut quite as far in from the tip as the other one I had so you can't push the key in all the way to lock/unlock the door which sucks. I will be taking the other one to the dealership to have it cut properly. I tried the good old Wal-Mart, which I never shop at because they suck and can't ever seem to do anything right, Because they cut keys for free but I don't mind paying someone to do it right. Little bit of a rant there sorry lol. Still awaiting the new window crank handles but I didn't go with OEM on those because I got two handles for way cheaper than just one handle and they will be replaced eventually when I decide to do the RHD swap and convert to power doors. But those are coming from Thailand so it will be a little while longer for the handles.I love buying parts but only wish I could be buying better stuff than all these little things.

I've never had a problem with Walmart cutting my keys. Lol. Course mine have chips in them that has to be programmed with the computer.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Yeah I don't have the problem of having chips in my keys because my car is older but oh we'll I will just order another and go to the dealer this time and have it done right. Just got my window crank handle in the mail today haven't even opened them yet but I'm not in a big hurry since I still haven't gone over to the guys house so we can weld up my door and get new window regulators. Still nice getting parts in the mail just wish it was better stuff lol.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Took my car over to my moms house a couple days ago so that her neighbor can help me out with some welding to get my door fixed so that I can properly use my windows. Hopefully will have that done soon but still need to get new regulators which I found for a decent price at $100 for the pair and also need to pick up new battery and get registration. So after about $300 it will be back on the road legally and I will be driving it everywhere lol. Still looking for a job now though so probably won't have the car done until after that happens since the government has decided to not give me any student loans for the summer semester so I won't be taking any classes until the fall and need some sort of income for now. Anyways I was lad to be able to drive it even if it was for only five minutes from my house to my moms garage lol.

Still waiting on the guy to come over and fix up my door but I did get one new window regulator for the driver side so that when he does fix it he will have a new regulator to line everything up with. Sorry no other progress as of yet but hopefully soon.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Finally going tomorrow to get my new battery and get the hatch registered so that I can legally drive it once again lol. Got a new job so I can now start putting some money into this project. I haven't made any real decisions on what to do next, I really want to get the body work that is needed done but then that would mean I have to save up for it and I have been waiting for quite a while to be able to do anything I am not sure if I can be that patient lol. I do want to get a new gauge cluster, one that has a tachometer because I hate not knowing when I'm shifting and I can never really drive to hard because I can't tell how hard it's running. The car is still sitting in my mom's garage and her neighbor who said he was going to weld up my door finally came over after a month and messed with for about ten minutes and said he would be back to weld it up, that was almost two weeks ago. I am really becoming impatient with him but I can't really say anything because he's not charging me anything and he's friends with my mom. It is a horribly complicated situation and I don't like it anymore plus I need my car ready to go so I can get to work. As for an update I did get two new window regulators with window crank handles that my Fiance surprised me with.

Re: 97 EK hatch
OMG so excited! Lol. Went out today and got the registration done but have to wait like 4 weeks till I get my personalized specialty plates but oh well, then went and got a battery. Brought the car home from my mom's house and immediately dived into it lol. So I installed my new passenger side window regulator and put on the new window crank handle and it works beautifully with the help of a small amount of WD40. After that I felt very enthusiastic and took a look at my driver side and took it all apart and used a few extra spacers lying around that we're big enough to cover the wholes there and the extended bolts I bought and got that regulator to work properly as well. Now I feel kind of dumb for waiting so long for someone to do something they said they would when I tackled the project myself. Oh well lesson learned I guess, why wait when you have the capabilities. I am satisfied with it but know it won't last forever but it looks like it might last long enough until I can source some cheap doors. So after actually getting my car back and seeing it's condition again my previous post has changed and I will now be needing to replace the windshield with my first set of funds from the new job. Sorry I completely forgot about taking pictures while working on it so none yet but maybe some more updated pics once I wash it.

It's good to hear you're working on the Civic again. That's why I try to do most of my work myself. I have found it yields better results than waiting on someone to do it. Couse look at me. I'm just waiting on a house to work on the car.

Re: 97 EK hatch
Yeah I would much rather attempt any project myself but I do know my limits and needed the door welded and I have never welded before. After driving it for a while now the door is holding up ok but I have to guide the window up with my hand so the door will still need to be replaced.

Re: 97 EK hatch
It is very awesome to be driving my car again but I think that in this heat I am sweating way to much, so I think I will have to start saving up for another daily car to get to and from work. Was hopeful to start getting some nice work done on the car but I want another car so that i can work on the hatch to a greater extent in case it needs to be down for a little while.

Why dont you just get air conditioning? As much as I hate it I'm getting fixed on the Eclipse so the baby will be comfortable.

Re: 97 EK hatch
well no one else rides in my car except every once in a while so I am the only one affected by it really but I don't know if I want to drop the money to get the AC stuff I need or save for a new engine or buying another car for work. I also remembered that i could get a hold of another hatch fairly cheap that is stock with AC and buy that swap over all my stuff and sell the shell. so many options and some time to decide.

Re: 97 EK hatch
To anyone still here, lol, I don't have much to update except a few new parts and some body work that I attempted myself in an effort to save money. I have also started up a company with a few friends called Desert Street Scene, we started back in August of last year and have quickly grown to be the biggest event coordinators in AZ. We throw car shows and host meets for clubs as well as charity events and have really become a household name in most parts of Arizona. I am very excited to see where this will go and no that we definitely have the potential do to great things and branch out to a city near you in the future, lol. I'll throw up some pics of what we've done and update with a new thread somewhere if it's applicable.
This is a shot of one of latest meets we hosted for the grand opening of an indoor kart racing facility. This lot had a capacity of 700 cars and we crammed in over 900 with the help of our sponsorship with UTI. Even thought his was a great success our largest meet we held last summer was at a local mall and we ended up with over 1200 cars in attendance and gave out custom made trophies for 14 different categories.
Now on to my updates on my car lol.
I got these great carbon fiber window visors from my new connection at Special-CarbonFiber.com.
My attempt at body work for the first time.
New carbon fiber type R style wing also from Special-CarbonFiber.com
Picked up a set of Type R badges as well, looking good with the JTO decal lol.
This is just one of my favorite new photos.
I have also purchased NRG quick release with carbon ring (I have a weird obsession with carbon fiber), short shifter, shift knob and LCA's from BWR all black. Nothing too big as of yet and have very mixed feelings on what to do next. I recently bought a 3 point strut bar from BWR and when I attempted to mount it there was an issue with the fitment due to the strut towers no being properly aligned which confirmed my suspensions on a possible front end issue. So at this point I am at the dilemma of buying another hatch and swapping over all my parts or just spending the extra money to fix the big issues like the rear subframe that needs replaced and the front end issue that could be fixed by swapping over a RHD front clip. All these issues are sometime down the road at the moment since I am in college and starting up a business. Once we start making money from hosting events I will be better equipped to go all out on the car but until then it's still multicolred and pieced together but I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!
