Re: Just reposting
Well, it sounds like my wife is pretty sold on a second gen Eclipse. At least i can source a JDM Evolution motor and have it drop right in. SHE doesn't know that yet. lol. I WILL have her driving SOMETHING JDM, I just wish it was a V35 Skyline (aka Infiniti G35). Oh how I'd love to do an RHD conversion and turbo that thing...

Re: Just reposting
I saw a white one for 400 down, but it's a manual. I wouldn't mind, but I might get to drive it once in a while. Sarah can drive stick, but for everyday to and from work and misc running around, she'd rather have an auto. It's all good, i can still make it fast, just in a slightly different way. lol

Re: Just reposting
I wouldn't even consider buying a car if it wasn't manual but my girlfriend can't drive stick so she has to have auto, but if she could I would be like you don't get a choice LOL.

Lol. Been havin trouble finding a decent automatic Eclipse for sarah. At least there's time. I'll have to wait until after i get paid from Annual Training for the Guard to get the silver Eclipse back. Then in August, reenlist and HOPEFULLY get that reenlistment bonus.

Re: Just reposting
So we found a couple of Eclipses last night. One was a red 2003 GT for 6980, the other a Kalpana Black 1999 GS for 3980. I like the 99, seeing as how it's also the model she likes, and i can do TONS of stuff to it. Hell, i can do TONS of stuff to any car, but that's another story. I'm figuring that I'll actually get about $7500 after taxes are taken out of my reenlistment bonus. I was wanting to put $5000 down on a car of her choice. Using the down, that leaves $1020 to fix it up, and get it tagged and insured. I just heard back from her before she clocked on to go for the black one. Granted, it's not turbo, or even AWD, but it's ridiculously easy to make it that way. Hell, I already plan to get a JDM Evo VII 4G63t. In due time. lol. All i want is my Eclipse back, with a painted valve cover. I'll have hers powder coated too.

99 gs sounds like a nice start, getting the 4G turbo would be sweet.

Re: Just reposting
Sarah might be getting her parents to buy the car for her, as that First Car that so many parents want to do for their kids. Our car is still sitting, we're working on a car loan for the 99, but if we get it and her parents send us the mone for her first car, it'll get used to get mine back. Will definitely bee looking at getting the silver one back after the 18th, when i get back from Annual Training.

sounds like a good deal, I am sure you can't wait to get your car back on the road, it's been too long.

Re: Just reposting
Yes. it has been too long. Hopefully my Annual Training check will get it back. I still can't drive it with no front bumper or expired tags. I THINK i have to pay my property taxes too... Either way, I can't wait to get the car back. When i drove it for the first time after it was fixed it took me back. I really hope things work out so we can get my Eclipse back and get Sarah one. She really wants one, even though i keep suggesting to her that a 3000GT would be a good choice too. I can live with that. I can do all sorts of things to a 1999 GS. I DO however need to get with the body shop guy and look into the paint options.

yes I am sure that getting your car back will be awesome. I kind of know how you feel, have not driven my car in a few months and I am hating it.

Re: Just reposting
What's even sadder is i want another car on top of it. I saw this REALLY clean S13 near Fort Leonardwood (I'm military remember?). It was blue, i WANT to say an Origin body kit, i'm not sure. it wasn't factory but it wasn't wild either. No wing, flush wheels, mild exhaust. It made me drool. I want one now. I'm not giving up on the Eclipse, only a tornado taking it out would make me do that. I've thought about, if i get an S13, doing the whole Silvia thing, or at least a Sileighty. Paint it blue, make it a drift machine... And NO LS1.
Woah, total Initial D moment there. LOL

Re: Just reposting
Been doing a little reading on a 240SX, and I'm really liking them. The KA24DE is a decent motor, but in my hands would get switched for either an SR20DET or an RB26DETT. The platform is solid and has tons of aftermarket support, plus, i'd get my pop up headlights. But the big question would be, Kouki or Zenki? :S
I'll never give up on my Eclipse, but it would become more my DD if i managed to get another car.

Re: Just reposting
At least the hood i want for one is cheaper than a carbon fiber hood for the Eclipse! lol
Ever since i saw this on an R34 sedan I fell in LOVE with it. I just wish i could get it on the Eclipse...

Re: Just reposting
Just did some pricing for wheels for the Eclipse, and found out that Andy's Auto Sport wants $750 each for Volk TE37's. That's $3000, before taxes and shipping. Oh, and I's still need tires. At least if i get the 17's i might be able to save $400 and use mine. lol

Re: Just reposting
Yeah the 240 with a RB26 swap is my choice, but I prefer the S14. I think Kouki looks nicer and that hood is a great choice for any drift machine. I have seen TE37's for more and less so good luck finding some at a decent price. The TE37 that I want for my car are limited edition and go for $880 a piece.

Re: Just reposting
880?! Damn, If i had the budget for TE37's, I'd have my car back, and a nice down on one for Sarah, then be looking at getting a 240sx when my reenlistment bonus hits. I'll pass on the TE's, even though they look amazing in bronze... The BMW rims i wanted were a fraction of that. There is so much more i could drop that money on instead of a set of rims that will either get stolen or marred up. Just sayin. lol

Re: Just reposting
yeah the TE37's I want are the limited edition Takata green ones, but yeah I am willing to settle for some Buddy Clup rims for a set that costs as much as one Volk, lol.
