Re: Whats the best alarm
Viper alarms are good, but they're a little sensitive, My dad used to have one when I was in high school on his Cobra and everytime I'd pull in the driveway my aftermarket exhaust would set it off. But that's not always a bad thing. If you're worried about getting your car actually STOLEN, I would suggest investing in OnStar, Not lowjack. I've seen waaaaay to many people dump thousands upon thousands into their car just to get it stolen and chopped. Security is one of the first things you should do if you plan on heavily modifying your car. Lowjack is good for theft, but that's all it's good for. If you're getting theft protection you might as well go with the roadside assistance and stuff that you get with OnStar.
Just an idea

I agree with Addicted2Speed, OnStar would be the way to go. Go to Best Buy and talk to them about OnStar FMV. I dunno how much it costs, but in addition to theft protection, you get roadside assistance, automated crash response, directions, and they can even unlock you car for you, should you accidentally leave your keys inside.

Re: Whats the best alarm
I have a Viper 5704(More advanced version of the 5901)
Although, I haven't installed it yet lol
My friend was installing it, but I gave up & decided to go to a legit shop, although my friend is legit, i know he wont pay for something he might break or whatever.

Re: Whats the best alarm
yeah don't let friends do something that might break a part of your car cause you know they wont be paying to fix it. Definitely going to a shop is the best idea with that kind of install. My only form of anti-theft as of right now is my quick release hub, just take my steering wheel with me when I go. I don't really take my car anyway unless it's somewhere I know I won't be for too long. Eventually when I get new doors and have windows that work properly I will invest in an alarm system.
