That's the main reason I dont deal with a bank. Plus our credit is crap. I find it much easier to save up, bring in enough to put down for the dealer to do in-house financing, or just go buy here pay here. Right now, Sarah and i are a little torn on a GMC Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban or a Lincoln Navigator.

Well I have to go through a bank cause I want something reliable and newer than what the buy-here-pay-here places have. We are looking at an '07 or newer Tahoe which I have not seen at any small dealers in good condition. Plus the in-house financing wants a crazy down payment that i don't want to go with. After driving a few things I know what I want and where to go just a matter of time before we make it happen. All I can say is I am not going to be settling for something we are not 100% interested in like we have in the past. We like the Tahoe and it's features and know what to look for when purchasing used so we are well prepared for this buying experience. We had one dealership try to talk us into a in-house financing deal on an older Tahoe with high mileage and before we probably would have gone with it but we are being smart this time.

It's good to be smart. Sarah and I are looking for an SUV as well. I want an Excursion (the one we found was a V10, yeah baby! lol) but she wants a Navigator (found one in Virginia beach VA in our budget) but have settled for a late 90's model GMC Yukon that has a couple of mods to it (sun visor and running boards). I'll be so damn glad when we get out tax return.

Tax season used to be awesome lol, but with us going to school now and not working last year sadly no tax season for us this year Sad lol. Going to be saving up a little bit longer until we can go and get the 07 or newer Tahoe that we want.

You'll get a tax credit if you pay on student loans. Wish we would've paid on mine, we could use as much money as possible.

Which i think is a load of crap, but that's how it is honestly. I have a SGT friend in the unit who has like 6 or 7 dependents. Course i think he's prior service too, but i know he got a waiver.

Craigslist can be tricky, but yield amazing results. I have yet to use them.

craigslist is only about as tricky as Ebay but it's local. As long as you ask questions and see what you are buyin before making a commitment then you are good to go. Unlike Ebay were you are buying something without physically seeing it and not fully knowing if the pictured item is what you are getting or just a random stock photo. I bought my carbon fiber hood off of Ebay because it was cheaper than going through a company and later found out that it is not the same quality as was mentioned in the listing. After doing some research I found that my "NRG" hood could not be real since NRG shows no signs of making a carbon hood and has no item number for such a part. However I did purchase my Password JDM carbon intake from Ebay, once again because of the price difference, and I got an actual Password JDM carbon intake in its original packaging. So while Ebay in my experiences is a hit or miss type of deal I feel pretty comfortable with Craigslist because if I have any doubts I can easily just go down and look at the product or vehicle and see it for my self.
