Alrighty y'all, I'm back with another project. Here's our 2001 Honda Accord Ex. It's not much with an automatic, sunroof, 6 disc cd changer, and leather. It has 250,000 miles on it, all original parts. It need an engine bay detail, about like Gene's Civic, if you've seen shots of his engine bay. (Sorry Gene, i needed a reference. No hard feelings bro. lol.)

Yes, that is a spiked license plate frame. At least Sarah likes it. Says it appeals to her "dark side"... O.o

Some of the things i would LIKE to do are JDM style headlights, maybe some black or smoked Altezza or LED tail lights, mild body kit, Honda rims, redo the interior, clean the hell out of the engine bay, improve the performance just a bit, starting with a tune up and a K&N air filter and a mild sounding exhaust.

If Sarah likes the spikes you might want to check out DownStar for their spike series bolts for just about anywhere on the car at http://downstarinc.com/Shop/index.php?_a=category&cat_id=62. I like this model of Accord and feel that it is under-appreciated in the Honda community. How much are you looking to spend on an exhaust set-up and do you want a full cat-back or just the muffler?

Hey i found a couple things for fairly inexpensive if you are interested. Instead of tinting or smoking the headlights you could get some black housing headlights that look just as good for only $84.00 from Vivid Racing at http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2002_Honda_Accord_specd-black-housing-headlights-honda-accord-9802-p-114763.html.

And to go with the headlights some smoked fog lights complete with all wiring for only $60.00 http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2002_Honda_Accord_specd-oem-style-smoked-fog-lights-honda-accord-4d-0102-p-115170.html
2001 Honda Accord temporary project LF-ACD014GOEM-WJ_1

And also a cold air intake for less than $60 http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2002_Honda_Accord_spyder-polish-cold-air-intake-filter-honda-accord-4cyl-9802-p-148223.html

Sarah likes the lights, not sure about the fogs, she wants a full kit if we go with one, and the CAI is doable. Just a tad more than the K&N air filter. the car would be built to what she wants. I do know that if we choose to keep the car, she wants it repainted. Not a fan of gold...

This Accord does look good in silver. As far as body kits go for this year Accord I would stick with the stock bumpers and just add the nicer lip kits to add a lower look. This body style looks great and the kits mostly available just take away from it.

My wife is the one driving it. But, we;re looking at getting a BMW 745 and giving this wither back to my stepdad, or keeping it just so i can modify and sell it for hopefully a pretty penny to a Honda enthusiast. But, it does need a few things. If we can't get the BMW we'll keep the Accord and just modify it. We're not crazy about the gold either. She wants something darker. as far as a body kit, she wants full bumpers. no lip kits.

Well, i ran a car fax on the BMW. It's a 2003, but there was a discrepency with the reported mileage. We don't know how much they want, but Sarah's going to talk to them tomorrow and see what they can tell her and compare the Carfax with the one we looked up, if they offer one. We shall see...

On the other hand, I found a sweet 2005 Chrysler 300C with a 5.7L V8 and all wheel drive for $12,000. Would be nice to take a trip in that. Keeping all options on the table.

Yup. Sarah's sold on the Skyline. I even tried dangling a FULLY LOADED 2006 CADILLAC ESCALADE in front of her. Nope. She wants the Skyline. Then, stupid me, i had to read some specs off Wikipedia, only to realize that after i get the turbo 2.0L for the Eclipse, she's still rocking more power than me, PLUS the ATTESSA-ETS AWD system. So yeah, I'm a little steamed. She knows I love the Skyline sedans, knows that the VQ35DE is the same block as the GT-R's VQ38DETT, knows it has about 282 HP, 269 Ft. lbs. of torque, and how much I've wanted a Skyline. I'm going to have to work harder to beat those numbers, but she may have me at the drag strip with that ATTESSA ET-S. At least I have a manual... Quicker shifts baby!!

And why am i not surprised? Sarah asked how hard it would be to put twin turbos on the car... Ugh, having a car girl for a wife is annoying. My ego is at stake here. lol. but i love her.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the Accord is no longer a "temporary" project. I would like to modify it, but i want it to be JDM. Maybe get a few mods, but as far as the body is concerned, i want it sort of stock. I would love to get a JDM front clip, but I'm at a loss at whether to get a Accord SiR engine or an Accord Euro R one. Factory rear wing (or Mugen, if available) Maybe some Civic Si 16 inch rims (or Accord, not sure yet) Definitely some performance mods though, as my wife said on Facebook on my timeline post it moves like a sluggish old man. It only has about 140-150 horsepower.

And that's to the bhp. Probably only pushin 90 to the wheels. Almost went f20b in my car but I found some more cost affective alternatives.

going with the Euro R would be a good setup I think. that F20B is pretty nice pushing 197HP with 145lb/ft and with that Vtec. But that Accord EDM Type-R has the H22A7 which has 220Hp and 163 lb/ft.
