    Four door GT-R is coming!

Post by EclipsedSilver on Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:29 pm

You read right. A four door GT-R is in the pipeline, equipped with a 530-hp twin turbo V6, and built at the Tochigi plant in Japan alongside the GT-R. The 'New GT-R' will be an Infiniti G series sedan. There's only one problem, it doesn't look like it'll be sold in the US...

Looks like another $90K car I will never be able to afford.

I don't know if a new Infinti will be as good as a GT-R, but if it has the same powerplant then it should be pretty decent.

That's the thing bro, Infiniti IS Nissan. It'll have the same powerplant and drivetrain, just a longer body and SLIGHTLY different styling. I personally can't wait. I might consider getting one.

Oh I know Infinti is Nissan but it just isn't the same, with it being an Infiniti they will make it more of a luxury model than a powerhorse like the GT-R should be.

The skyline as a whole was made to be more of a luxury model. The GT-R is more of a powerhouse (like you said). I agree, here's to hoping that it will be more like the GT-R. My guess is, since it's being built next to the GT-R in Japan, it will have all the goodies that the GT-R does.

I am sure they will include all the things that make the GT-R worth having and throw in some added features for a more luxurious feel. The Infiniti standard features are most of the time better than any Nissan upgrades.

Sometimes yes. All i know is that they sat down with the insider. I'm expecting a few things like different head/tail lights, maybe different seats, but not much else. It'll be interesting to see what they crank out. Remember that the prototype rarely looks like the production model.

yes the prototype always looks way more crazy than the actual production model. I will be looking forward to see how this all turns out though, might not be a bad idea to get a hold of a nice four door GT-R powered infiniti.

The perfect family sedan in my book. hence why i wanted a Porsche Panamera Turbo. Four doors for the kids, and turbo for me. An Infiniti GT-R would be perfect. Four doors, manual, V6 for the gas mileage and twin turbo for the FUN. lol

yeah it sounds like a pretty nice setup, but still not big enough for me lol. I think I would not mind having an Escalade dropped on air bags and through a vette engine in for fun. That would be big enough for my gang, either that or just get a bus lol.

I saw this one 'mini' school bus with a classic front end, dropped with a supercharged crate engine in it. The sucker was awesome. I think it was a 50's or 60's maybe 70's. Totally drop a supercharged Vette engine in one. I'd sponsor it. lol

Yeah it would be something a little different, My girl wants an Escalade so I figure I can do something with it. I had a 74 Chevy pickup before and had plans of putting in a vette engine and dropping it on some OEM vette wheels. Would have looked awesome.

I kinda wish i still had my 98 and 79 Malibu's. the 79 was a coupe, i wanted to drop a 383 stroker or a 454 race engine in it, 8 inch rear wheels with street legal drag slicks, cowl induction hood, interior goodies and what not. The 98 i was going to put a body kit on, wing, wheels and engine and interior pieces. I miss those cars. but i have an even better one now. Smile

I can appreciate the older American cars but prefer the 90's and up Japanese cars. Your Eclipse is very nice and I have had far too many cars I wish I still had.

So do I. The Japanese sure seemed to do it right during that time.
