Re: Just reposting
So currently, the car is in the shop (finally) getting the engine installed. Tomorrow I have to go down to work and pick up a Chevy Colorado, take the kids to my parents, get the bumper, drop it off at the body shop and then head to work at noon. So HOPEFULLY the car will be ready by this weekend, although I'm not holding my breath for it. I should have just taken it to Mitsubishi and paid the 90+ dollars an hour. At least I'd have a car... I'm going to talk to Tanner at his body shop about doing the hood too.

Re: Just reposting
Tell me about it. And hows this for a cool boss? since I'm using the same body shop that works on our cars, I took the bumper up there. My manager asked if i was able to get the bumper for the car to Tanner's, since that was the reason i rented a pickup from work, aside from the fact that I needed to get back and forth to work while Sarah used the Accord to go to work herself. So I told my manager that I was dropping the bumper and side skirts for the Eclipse off when i got off work. He asked if they'd fit in the back of a 2012 Dodge Durango. I've been dying to drive one, so he told me to just throw the parts in the back. They fit like a glove. The Durango was also REALLY nice. Leather, touchscreen entertainment (mainly just a stereo and satellite radio)V8, "euro" styling. The push button ignition takes a little getting used to, but it's fun. The stereo thumps. I thoroughly enjoyed my drive across town. I told Tanner when i dropped off the Durango and the Eclipse parts to take his time with the bumper, as i still have no idea when it will be done. $250-300 dollars to prep, paint, install and buff the front end is not bad at all. I can't wait to see it once it's done. Working for Enterprise is fun. I get to drive many different vehicles, renting them is cheap (only $42 a day for a small pickup. That's about the same price as a small economy car for an average Joe) and i have a lot of fun. My problem is, i can't afford all of the vehicles i want to buy from work. Ah well, maybe some day... lol

alright looking forward to some pics. I think working at a place like that would be very interesting, getting to drive everything and get to know all the new cars.

Re: Just reposting
UPDATE!!
I stopped by G&N today after i dropped Sarah off at work and managed to catch the mechanic there. The car has an engine, and they said it runs like a charm. I didn't get to hear it, as there is an oil leak and coolant leak that they are tracking down. Apparently the engine has sat a while before I got ahold of it. No biggie. It has that classic Mitsubishi lifter tap, something that the old engine had when it still ran. Daniel, the shop manager/service writer, will be getting some photo's and a video of the car running for me, since i can't take off from work to go see it.I should have it back next week. Tanner won't be able to start on the bumper until Monday, which is ok since i have to leave the car with him so he can fit it.

Re: Just reposting
Apparently, he (the mechanic) has been busting his butt to get it knocked out. I'm pleased to see that it's almost done, but damn. At least it's almsot done and sitting at the new house. Now to pay for it...
From what i was told, the oil leak is minor. they should have it solved tomorrow. As for the coolant leak, i know not. They mentioned something about a pig tail. my guess is that they didn't use the pig tail for the throttle position sensor from the wire harness that came with the engine and splice it into the factory one. I hope they fix it all soon. I really want the car. I can't wait to hear it purr. Eventually, I'll replace the factory exhaust for a full exhaust with a high flow cat. I need to get a short throw shifter too...

ah yes thise sound like some good mods, any ideas on suspension? Do you want to lower it any more or wait till you get some new wheels for it? I have a high flow cat and it definitely made a difference in the sound of my exhaust system.

Re: Just reposting
My plan for the suspesnion is to get some new wheels first (I really want the flush look) and a set of coilovers to find the perfect stance. I might have just a little gap between the tire and fender, and i may have it just a bit over it, showing no gap. It's too soon to tell.
On another note, I stopped by G&N today. My car is DONE! I started it and drove it a bit, and it sounds freaking sweet! The tires are in great shape too, considering the fact that it sat for so long. I can't wait to pay the $2,451.78 bill. I'm praying that the owner Gary will be willing to negotiate payments, as i really need the car to get back and forth to work and get out of the Ford Fusion i rented from work (Although, i wouldn't MIND buying it from Enterprise. It's a really nice car. Ford has won me over once again. I used to tout that I'd never drive a Ford again, but the Fusion really won me over. 3.0L V6 pushing 240HP, comfy leather seats, seamless shifting through the powerband and an average 30 mpg's). After i get the Eclipse back, i take it to Tanner's Body Shop here in Springfield, the same body shop where we take all of our cars at work, and have the bumper installed, then go get tags. I'll post the first photo of the engine in a little bit.

Re: Just reposting
And now, the moment we've all been waiting for, the first photo of Austin's new engine in his Eclipse!
I know, I know, it still needs a front bumper. I'm working on that. Hope this will pacify you guys for a day or two. I'll try to figure out how to post a link to the vid on Facebook on here.

How crazy would you all think I am if i said I'm considering a VR38DETT engine and drivetrain swap instead of the 20B-REW? I'm starting to scare myself... >.>

Re: Just reposting
I personally can't wait until the silver vc is replaced with an Ice Blue one with Candy Silver letters. But that's a little down the road. I need to get the car back first.

Re: Just reposting
It will be, once i get the money to get the car back and can get the project off the ground. Since I'm going to be reenlisting in the National Guard in August, in the hopes of cashing in on a $10,000 (before Uncle Sam takes his cut) reenlistment bonus, I plan on getting Sarah a car and paying some bills, MAYBE getting the vc done. But first, i need to get $1500 so i can get teh car back and get out of this Fusion I've been renting from work for the past two weeks. It's a nice car, but i want the Eclipse back. Desperately.

Re: Just reposting
Another eclipse wouldn't be a bad idea. How about getting a nice gsx? And I know accords aren't all that awesome bit I would rather drive any Honda than be stuck with some other piece of junk, LOL.
