My B13 Sentra Build Empty My B13 Sentra Build

Post by TwistedKreation Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:28 am

Well since I suggested it I might as well be the first one to post my build lol. Anyways got the car in september of last year.
    When I first got it.
    My B13 Sentra Build 61075_1200478468549_1726187272_367179_7472838_n

    My B13 Sentra Build 62828_1204902899157_1726187272_374343_6972260_n

It stayed stock right up until may when I made what later became a major dumbass decision and bout some 2" Sprint drop springs for my car. No

    My B13 Sentra Build 227959_1398054487826_1726187272_637356_3857740_n

    My B13 Sentra Build 228064_1398228972188_1726187272_637669_6435442_n

And then I made an even more dumbass decision to buy these Rolling Eyes

    My B13 Sentra Build 267962_1459978395885_1726187272_690489_2102402_n

Ok so I bought the bible for sentra guys, How to Build Your Nissan Sport Compact, realized that I had become a victim of trends coming back into the scene, slapped myself in the face with a pimp hand, then got to work fixing my f*ckups. First I got to work on fixing my suspension (these sentras ony have 2.5 inches of travel on the front, do the math and you'll realize that was why my ride sucked monkey nuts. Basically as uncool as it may be, you can not lower these cars to the ground. I got lucky and traded my 13 inch wires for a set of old school 15 inch Primes

    My B13 Sentra Build 260043_1449855622822_1726187272_680659_3312589_n

So far I have restored the front suspension, still working on getting the rear back to stock height.

    My B13 Sentra Build 267762_1469460992944_1726187272_701577_812918_n

Plans now are for keeping the car at stock height, working on the engine, and give it a nice clean JDM style mixed with a little bit of my own style. I am going to build this car for and not anyone else and honestly do not give a shit what people will think (unless it's positive Very Happy ).

Thanks man it's gonna be a long term project and for now I have some repairs to do to it but hopefully I can start showing progress soon. First up is replacing those shitty rubberband sweedish tires on the 15s with some Falken Azenis Very Happy

Well the problem is nissan designed these sentras with very limited suspension travel and dropping it even two inches causes major issues with stability, hitting bumpstops etc. Basically lowering a sentra just makes the ride shitty so I am therefore going with the theory of of soft spring and struts and stiff on sway bars and strut bars. The idea is by running OEM spec springs and running stiffer sway bars I would increase the handling of my car and still retain optimum suspension travel and comfort for daily driving.

Thanks man I plan on running B13 SE-R OEM spec springs which has a slightly higher srping rate than the XE model, KYB GR2 struts and bigger swaybars front and rear. I know that my car will not bel hellaflushcanibeatoffstance approved but I'm ok with that Razz

Not sure yet for now I want to K.I.S.S.(Keep it simple smart, not stupid). Mild all motor, but possibly some boost later. These GA16DE motors are actually quite peppy and can handle a small turbo system.

Well the plan in my head is to run a thermal wrapped 4-2-1 header, a custom true cold air intake utilizing a good flowing QUALITY filter (Apexi, AEM or maybe Blox but unsure of them), AEM bypass vale so I don't flood the engine in the always sunny never rain florida summers Rolling Eyes , 3 inch velocity stack, and wrap the tube in a DEI Cool-it thermal wrap. Also pan on doing a lot of of simple mods to lower heat in the engine bay and to increase MPG.

Thanks man you know honestly after all the years being in high school wishing I had a car to do shit too to getting a car and not being able to afford parts to actually having a chance to it (having to budget myself) I have literally built my car five times over in head. If I can give anyone advice it is to save your money and buy the RIGHT parts! Buying cheap parts just adds to the amount that will have to spend to fix that part's failure of another component and worse.

Yea I get where you coming from, like my friend he's a vdub guy and he started with Honda cause he couldn't afford the gti he wanted so he basically learned inside and out what he wanted in his vdub , down to the little stickers lol , well he got his gti now and slowly putting in the pieces , I never planned anything for my civic when I got it but now I am although I'm still debating weather to keep my single non v and boost it or throw in a b series swap scratch

E85 yep yep. Stock most guys with the GA16DE in my sentra average 30-35+ MPG. My goal is to retain at least that if not more but making the engine as a whole flow better and thus more efficient. My main problem is the 5 speeds in any B13 sentra GA16 or SR20 are notoriously shitty, mine included Crying or Very sad . The problem is the fifth gear "pop-out", where while driving down the road it pops out of gear which is very annoying and damaging. However the base-base model sentra, the E model, came equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission that uses the same four gears and final drive without to anyone's knowledge, the pop out issue. I actually intend to swap in a 4 speed for that fact and for better MPG Very Happy
