I have two daughters from a previous mistake (my ex was, not the kids) bills out the wazoo, the Eclipse needs a new motor (or at least a rebuild) My wife and i are trying to get in my grandmother's place (she had a stroke in December and is more than likely going to move in with my mom and stepdad where we currently live) and my wife and i NEED another vehicle. I'm in the national guard (as you probably guessed from my FB profile pic) and Sarah works at Wal-mart. So yeah, funds are pretty low. lol. Dreaming is free though. it putting it to reality that costs.

yes dreams are always free, and I completely understand how it is not having the funds to make it happen. All we got to do is keep trying and it will happen. I am just glad I have gotten my car running again, now I just need to focus on getting running better.

I'd love to have ours running. last time i checked eBay there was a motor in Rogers AR for $650. quick question, if a car has the same motor, why do people say it will only fit in a AT equipped car? I've been looking and see motors all the time for AT Eclipses. I've got a manual.

Most people who sell the motors include trans so they probably just say it's auto because of the trans connected to it. But I don't think it matters, though I don't know anything about mitsubishi and how they make there products.

Just a random question that i dont expect anyone to go a long with, but does anyone have a spare $1,805? Osaka JDM Motors has a 13B TT for sale with I believe a 5 Speed manual. Anybody want to help me get the build going? I've got beer! lmao.

I tell ya, sometimes in-laws are a God-send. My wife and i have been having financial issues (more like the lack thereof) and called her parents to get some advice. Well, they want to help us out. Fix the car, move (we live with my parents and my grandmother will be moving in soon, so we have until, like, April or May) and possibly have enough left over for a down on a Dodge Durango or some other mid-sized SUV. I'm still going to get to do the build, and build the 4G64 that i have on a stand (Polished and ported head, built block etc). Just goes to show you that even when you're wondering where you'll turn next, help can pop up unexpectedly.

Anybody know how to change wheel hubs? I think that changing the hubs would be the only way i can get the M3 wheels to fit on the car.

Never changed out hubs before, shouldn't be difficult though. Trial and error is the best part about workin on your own car.

This is true. The wife an i just started thinking about painting the dash and some interior pieces (door panels, center console etc) and i got to thinking, would Blue with silver accents look best, or silver with blue accents?

    this bumper or

This one? I'm having a little trouble deciding which would 1) look best on the car and 2) would go best with a wide body. I already have the Bomber front bumper (the second one) but it needs reapir. it got damaged by a few dips in the street when i was delivering pizza in the Eclipse for Papa Johns.

I've been thinking about this rear bumper or

this one. I'm wanting dual exhaust for sure.

I like the second front bumper and first rear bumper. And I think I would rather have silver with blue accents, the blue could get to be overwhelming on the dash.

Hmm, good point Dennis. Guess it's something i'll have to tinker with. looks like I'm making a trip to AutoZone this weekend for paint! hehe. Wink

As far as a new hood I'm thinking this one. (vv)

Or this one because of the scoop right near where the air filter goes.(vv)

Course a carbon fiber rear hatch is in store. I love the look of an Eclipse with a rear wiper, and there are indentations for it already on the hatch, as an effort to make it work with models that have the wiper as an option.

But the big question is, should i leave the paint in such a way to show the CF, or just paint over it completely? The nice thing about the gel coat on the CF is that it responds well to paint, and i need it to match this theme.

If I could find that wing or someone to make it I'd be set. To me, it LOOKS like the BMW Racing team wing for the grand prix. but what do i know?

This is basically what i want on the headliner after it's been fiber glassed. Sort of a tribute to my very patient and loving wife who's just as crazy about cars as i am, just more reserved.

This is loosely what my car would look like with the Bomber bumper and Cf hood wth the scoop. I already have those skirts. I'd rather not lose the little vent by the front wheel when i do the widebody, I'm guessing i should just move it? either way, the car would look pretty sweet.

Finally put money on another motor for the Eclipse. once Friday gets here we'll go pick it up and hopefully order the balance shaft elimination kit. Then i get to wait for the new header, balance shaft delete kit and (hopefully) a new intake. I HATE the look of the stock tubing... THEN maybe we can drop it in. Think I'll look for a car for Sarah while i'm at it. I've just about had enough of the damned Accord...

It's a four door, automatic, champagne colored and needs a little work. Plus, it's not mine or Sarah's And i never had much love for the Accord. I'd rather an EG6 or EK hatch, NSX or Del Sol.. We want something sporty. She wants an Eclipse, Mustang or 3000GT (in that order of precedence.) I'd rather she get a 3000 so i can do the whole RHD and VR4 swap. But i guess a 4G Eclipse isn't too bad... lol

I had an older accord and loved it but yes the Ek hatch is actually number one on my list of cars I have ever wanted. For some reason I never thought I would have one due to everyone jacking up the prices on them but I got a project. I like your ideas on the 3000GT (GTO) that would be pretty awesome to do the rhd on one. Sorry I cant really be on the same page with getting a mustang though, lol unless of course it was a nbrand new shelby cobra for some reason I like them a lot.
